Why convert Word to PDF
A Word document doesn't look the same on every computer: a missing font or another version of the software is enough to shift the pages. When you convert Word to PDF, the layout is locked. Your resume, letter or report opens the same way everywhere, including on a phone.
The conversion is done by LibreOffice, which reads Word and OpenOffice formats. Headings, tables, images, headers and footers are all carried over. If your document uses an unusual font, it may be replaced by a similar one: check the result before sending it.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files safe?
They are processed on our servers and deleted as soon as the PDF is sent back to you. Nothing is kept, viewed or shared.
Which formats can I convert?
Word DOC and DOCX files, LibreOffice and OpenOffice ODT files, and RTF.
Does DOCX to PDF conversion keep my layout?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. A font that isn't installed on our servers may be replaced by a similar one, which sometimes shifts a few lines.
Can I convert several documents at once?
Yes, up to 20 files, 50 MB each. You get the PDFs back together in a ZIP archive.
Do I need an account?
No. LordOfThePDF works without signing up and without an email address.
