Why convert HEIC to JPG

iPhones save their photos in HEIC format, which is lighter than JPG at the same quality. But many computers, apps and websites can't open it: a form that rejects the file, no preview on Windows, printing blocked. A HEIC converter solves this: once you switch from HEIC to JPG, the photo opens everywhere with nothing to install.

The conversion happens entirely in your browser, which can take a few seconds per photo on a modest device. A HEIC photo that contains a burst or several images only gives the first one. A JPG is a bit heavier than the original HEIC: lower the quality slightly if file size matters.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos safe?

They are converted right in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers, your photos never leave your device.

What is a HEIC file?

It's the default photo format on iPhone and iPad. It takes up less space, but is poorly supported outside Apple devices.

What if my photo contains a burst?

Only the first image is converted to JPG.

Why is the JPG heavier after converting iPhone photos to JPG?

HEIC compresses more efficiently than JPG. At the same visual quality, the JPG weighs a bit more.

Is there a limit?

You can convert up to 20 photos at a time, 50 MB max each.
