Why remove metadata
A PDF often carries information you can't see on screen: the author's name, the company name, the software used, the creation and modification dates. These details can reveal more than you meant to when you send a resume, a response to a call for tenders or an anonymous document, which is why it's worth taking a minute to remove PDF metadata and delete PDF metadata traces before sending.
The tool first shows you the metadata it found, then removes the information dictionary and the XMP stream from the file, without replacing them with anything else. The visible content of the pages doesn't change. Note: the text of the document itself, like a signature at the bottom of a page, is not affected.
