Why convert an image
Each format has its use. JPG is accepted everywhere, from official forms to old software. PNG keeps transparency and suits logos and screenshots. WebP produces lighter files for the web. Convert image files and you send something the recipient can actually open, whether you go from WebP to JPG or the other way round.
JPG doesn't support transparency: transparent areas of a PNG or WebP get a white background, an option you can turn off. An animated GIF keeps only its first frame, since the available formats are still images. PNG saves without loss, so the quality setting doesn't apply to it.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images safe?
They are processed right in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers, your images never leave your device.
Which format should I choose?
JPG for a photo to send anywhere, PNG to keep transparency or crisp text, WebP for a light file meant for the web.
What happens to transparency when I convert PNG to JPG?
JPG can't keep it. By default, it's replaced with white, which avoids the black backgrounds some software displays.
Does my animated GIF stay animated?
No. Only the first frame of the animation is converted.
Is there a limit?
You can convert up to 20 images at a time, 50 MB max each.
